YouTube Timestamp Link Generator

Updated October 11, 2026

Paste a YouTube link, type the moment you want, and get a link that starts the video right there. It also gives you embed code that starts at the same second.

How to use it

  1. Copy the video’s address from your browser or from the Share button in the app. Normal videos, Shorts, live and youtu.be links all work.
  2. Type the start time: 1:23, 1:02:45, 83 seconds or 1m23s.
  3. Copy the version you need: the short link for messages and social posts, the full link for documents, or the embed code for a website.

How timestamp links work

A YouTube link can carry a start time. On the short youtu.be address, it is added as ?t= followed by a number of seconds. On the full address, it is &t= followed by the seconds and an “s”. For embedded players, the start time goes in the start parameter of the embed address.

You can also make a timestamp link from YouTube itself: pause the video, use the Share button and tick the “Start at” box before copying.

Where timestamp links help

  • Replying to a comment by pointing to the exact moment that answers it.
  • Chapters in your description: timestamps written there become clickable. The description generator checks the chapter rules.
  • Sharing a clip of a long video or live stream without editing anything.

FAQ

Does a timestamp link work on phones?

Yes. The link opens in the YouTube app or in the browser and starts at the chosen time.

Is anything sent to YouTube when I use the tool?

No. The tool only reads the link you paste and rebuilds it in your browser. It does not load the video.
